Our Journey

MarkFord Research Consult was incorporated as a company under the Registration of Business Names Act, 1962 (No, 151) on the 23rd day of February 2016. Since its inception, the company’s core business has been in research and consultancy services in the applied and social sciences, with specific emphasis on Business and Marketing Research, Impact Assessment, Feasibility Studies, Baseline Survey, Journal Publication, and collaborative studies, Strategic Business Plan, Business Proposals, Climate Change, Monitoring and Evaluation etc.


The company’s goal is to aid customers in the development of policies and programmes, as well as the execution of projects, in the areas of its main business, in order to contribute effectively and significantly to the achievement of this goal.
Consulting services in the area of research, applied and social sciences have been the company’s primary focus since its establishment. Its projects have primarily involved collaborative research, climate change, monitoring and evaluation, and business and marketing research, impact assessments, feasibility studies, baseline surveys, journal publications, business proposals, strategic business plans.

Meet our CEO

Mr. Mark Ohene

Mark Ohene is the Chief Executive Officer of MarkFord Research Consult, a research consulting firm based in Accra, Ghana, which is a Ghanaian organisation. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Ghana between 2003 and 2006, earning a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. From 2017 to 2019, he also completed his postgraduate education in Climate Change and Sustainable Development, an MPhil programme at the same university.

From 2006 to 2010, Mark Ohene held the position of Assistant Economic Planning Officer at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MOFEP). His desire to pursue a long-term objective led him to depart from MOFEP in 2010 in pursuit of a research-oriented professional endeavour.

“Scooping Study” (Ghana’s Forestry Department) and project on Illegal Mining in Ghana (UNDP funded project), The Liberian Energy Policy etc., were undertaken with the late Joe Asamoah (PhD); an Oil and Gas, Energy, Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Environment specialist and a consultant. He was also the Chief Executive Officer of EnerWise Africa, a research consulting firm in Ghana.

Mark Ohene is also an astute academic proposal and dissertation writer, spanning a 12-year period (2012 to date). Within this period, Mark Ohene has assisted a sizeable number of under-graduates, graduates, postgraduate and PhD students in their academic research pursuit in varied topical areas within Ghana and abroad where an entire dissertation is written or assisted mid-way through the work; contingent on their needs.

Over the years, Mark Ohene has also undertaken a number of baseline surveys; done projects on impact assessment, monitoring and evaluation, etc., through the adoption of varied methodologies; qualitative and quantitative for small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in varied sectors.

Mark Ohene’s expertise in climate SMART agriculture, which he obtained during his Master of Philosophy in Climate Change and Sustainable Development, has enabled him to instruct numerous farmers in both urban and rural areas of Ghana regarding the implementation of climate SMART Agricultural (CSA) practices. These practices include intercropping to optimise space utilisation, stake planting to mitigate wind damage, cash crops, crop rotations, enhanced storage and processing methods, and underground crops (e.g., yams). These straightforward yet efficient methods have assisted farmers in increasing their yields, fortifying themselves against the adverse impact of climate change, and ultimately increasing their income.

Mark Ohene is happily married with three (3) beautiful children (A boy, and two girls). His hobbies include exploring new destinations (travelling), reading, and avidly soccer matches.
